Creamy Cajun Shrimp Pasta combines juicy seasoned shrimp, tender pasta and a rich parmesan cream sauce with just the right amount of heat.

Pair it with Creamy Garlic Chicken Pasta for a bigger spread.

It is fast enough for a weeknight dinner but looks impressive enough for guests.

Ingredients

  • 300 g fettuccine or linguine
  • 400 g peeled shrimp
  • 1 tablespoon Cajun seasoning
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 250 ml heavy cream
  • 70 g grated parmesan
  • 100 ml pasta water
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and pepper
  • Fresh parsley

Instructions

  1. Cook the pasta according to package instructions.
  2. Reserve about 100 ml pasta water before draining.
  3. Pat the shrimp dry and season with Cajun seasoning.
  4. Heat olive oil in a skillet.
  5. Cook shrimp for 1–2 minutes per side until pink and lightly golden.
  6. Remove shrimp from the pan.
  7. Add butter and garlic to the same skillet.
  8. Cook for about 30 seconds.
  9. Pour in the heavy cream.
  10. Stir in parmesan, paprika and a little pasta water.
  11. Add the pasta and toss until fully coated.
  12. Return the shrimp to the skillet.
  13. Finish with parsley, parmesan and black pepper.
