A hearty pasta bake layered with ziti, rich marinara sauce, and gooey melted mozzarella and ricotta cheese. Perfect for a family dinner or a cozy night in.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ziti pasta

  • 2 cups marinara sauce

  • 1 lb ground beef or Italian sausage

  • 2 cups ricotta cheese

  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

  • 2 garlic cloves, minced

  • Fresh basil for garnish

  • Salt and pepper to taste

Directions

  • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Cook ziti pasta according to package directions. Drain and set aside.
  • In a skillet, cook ground beef with garlic until browned. Stir in marinara sauce and season with salt and pepper.
  • In a large baking dish, layer half of the cooked ziti, followed by half the ricotta and mozzarella. Add a layer of the meat sauce. Repeat with the remaining ziti, ricotta, and sauce.
  • Top with remaining mozzarella and Parmesan.
  • Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and golden. Garnish with fresh basil before serving.
