Ingredients
1 lb ziti pasta
2 cups marinara sauce
1 lb ground beef or Italian sausage
2 cups ricotta cheese
2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
2 garlic cloves, minced
Fresh basil for garnish
Salt and pepper to taste
Directions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Cook ziti pasta according to package directions. Drain and set aside.
- In a skillet, cook ground beef with garlic until browned. Stir in marinara sauce and season with salt and pepper.
- In a large baking dish, layer half of the cooked ziti, followed by half the ricotta and mozzarella. Add a layer of the meat sauce. Repeat with the remaining ziti, ricotta, and sauce.
- Top with remaining mozzarella and Parmesan.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and golden. Garnish with fresh basil before serving.
